Contract!

Last night I got a contract offer from The Wild Rose Press!
I'm so excited! I'm signing with their Scarlet line as my story, Beauty's Beast, is an erotic.
All I have to do now is sign the contract and send it off to them in New York. Wooohoooo!

Working...

I'm writing a new short erotic romance that I plan on submitting to Samhain. They have a call out for 12000-16000 word manuscript for their 'Red Hot Summer Anthology'.
Still working on Legend, but slowly. I want to finish the short before the deadline, which is the tenth. That doesn't leave a lot of time!:)

Right now it's freezing here, and snowing. It's kinda hard to write about the heat of summer when there is ice on the streets:)

Finally, all my ATCs are up on my website. You can click on them and see the larger view. Visit my blog here and here to read my other entries.

I hope everyone had a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year...

Writing and Shopping

I finally watched the whole season six of 24 on DVD, which I bought recently. I love that show. I hate to think of how long it might be before I get to see season seven.

Also finished all the shopping for Christmas gifts; the last gift was bought tonight. I’m glad that’s done! I have my grocery list printed out and ready to be taken to the grocery store where I’ll buy the Christmas dinner items. The list is long. I’ve decided to add a couple of new things to the dinner this year, including a fruit punch that sounded really good, and a baked pineapple stuffing. I’m also going to make some potato candy, which is really tasty:)

After Thanksgiving, I thought there was no way I’d be ready for turkey and cornbread dressing again, but here I am, definitely ready;) I can’t wait until Christmas. We’re going to open the stockings on Christmas Eve, and the presents on Christmas morning. I hope it’s snowing, with the scent of roasting turkey in the air, and lots of presents to open, and alternating It’s a Wonderful Life and A Christmas Story in the DVD player. Have I mentioned that I love this time of year?:)

I’ll get back to concentrating on Legend now that I don’t have 24 distracting me. It’s also just such a busy time of year, but even if I write a thousand words a day, I’ll be happy. It’s driving me nuts not to write on the other stories I’ve got going on, but I am making myself only write on Legend. Gotta get it done!

Sunday Catchup

This blog is a copy and paste from my WordPress blog, because I didn't have enough to blog about today for unique ones:)

Chloe is doing great. It’s like she was never sick. It’s also like having a two year old in the house, and I am already in need of a break :)

She likes her big wire crate as long as the door is open and she can go in and out as she pleases, but I put her in it at night when I go to bed, and she’s not crazy about that idea. I can’t trust her out of it just yet, though, as I’m in the process of house training her. Plus, she likes to chew. Once I don’t have to worry about those two things, I’ll let her sleep in a doggy bed in my room.

I’ve actually written some today, and am going to do more as soon as I’ve finished this post. It feels great to be writing a lot again!

Daisy Dexter Dobbs’ birthday is tomorrow, so please go over to her page and tell her happy birthday. :) Her new book, Absolutely Not is out November 30, as well, at Ellora’s Cave. Happy birthday, Daisy!

Okay, I’m in too big a hurry to actually blog more, gotta get to writing on my manuscripts! I have to make up for those days I didn’t have a chance to write;)

Chloe is coming home!

Chloe is coming home today! I'm so relieved. It was really touch and go there for awhile, but she's eating and drinking, and is, as of today, off the IV!
I have everything ready and waiting, her bed and toys and everything, and am just really happy she's okay. I'll post another picture of her once she's healthy and doing well, and we have her fattened up a bit. Poor thing is so skinny right now. I bought her the cutest little pink raincoat, and some pink booties, and can't wait to take pictures of her in that outfit! Once she's feeling better, of course. I don't want to stress her out by dressing her while she's still sick;)

About Chloe

It’s been such a stressful week! First my wrists; I had to stop writing for a couple of days, but worse than that, I bought a gorgeous goldendoodle-more golden than poodle- from a breeder and fell in love with her, not realizing that she had parvo. She was very quiet, very sad looking, but the breeder said she was just ‘laid back’. She was throwing up a little in the car ride home, but I just thought it was because of the change from the breeder to here, car sickness, etc. But that night, I knew something worse than that was wrong.

Parvo works fast. I took her to the vet the next morning, and he said that she would have been dead by the next day if I hadn’t brought her in.

She’s there now; I visited her today and took her a little stuffed Winnie the Pooh bear, but she looks so pitiful. Everytime I’d pet her or talk to her, she’d whine, just a little bit. She can’t hold her head up or anything, she’s just lying there with an IV. Poor little thing. She has to make it.

The breeder gave me my money back for her and said that if Chloe doesn’t make it, they’ll give me a new dog. But I don’t want to think about that. Besides, wouldn’t the other dogs have parvo as well? Even if some of the dogs are separated, can’t you carry parvo to them on your shoes and clothes and such?

I just want Chloe to be okay. She’s the sweetest dog; exactly the dog I’ve wanted for a long time. I hate the thought of her being at the clinic without anyone who really cares for her, without anyone taking time to pet her or talk to her. I wish I could bring her home and take care of her.
